spiritual update...are we in God's way?

I haven’t really blogged on what is going on with me spiritually and that was basically the whole point of this blog, so I think considering what has gone on the past week this would be as good as any.

You know there are times in your life where you are pushed and pushed and then you just seem to have a melt down. Welll, I had one of those this weekend. Bless my friends. Actually, God bless my friends, Andrew & Zac, they got the brunt of it.

I think a person can take so much in a short period of time before they loose it. J ha ha I know we have all had our moments of desperation. I think for me it is a couple of different factors. Just everything that has gone on the past month and a half, teeth issues, surgery, getting pulled over, having my wallet stolen and then loosing the other half of that.

Those sort of things add up over a period.

I have discovered something about myself as well. Some of my friends says I push to hard for things. Ya know, it is this thing about pushing to see how far I can push people…so eventually I will push them away. Whether it is for something or against something. Just how much will a person take from me before they can’t handle it anymore? Then when they have had enough, they just go to prove what I have always known that everyone lets you down and that you can’t trust anyone.

I have had some HARD truth lessons this week. I never realized I was that type of person. I would push someone into a friendship or relationship until they had enough or when I had some people actually tell me they needed me in their life. Push them out because that was too much or not something I had dealt with before.

You might be wondering…why are you blogging on this? This is a bit on the personal side. Because I realized that you can’t run from your past and you can not let it control you. As a Christian I need to hold firm to the truth that Christ loves me and that no matter what anyone has done to me in the past, I need to trust HIM. He has brought me to this place in life. HE is the one that has brought people to me and put them here.

I am just grateful that God is merciful and that He has put people in my life who DO love me and are those people who I have pushed and yet are those same people who given me grace. Poor Maria, gets about 15 texts a day from me whining about something or another. Yet, she and I both know that God has given us a good friendship and we help each other.

So somethings to think about…think about yourself and what things do you see yourself doing to “protect” yourself. Are those the things that God is really calling you to do? Is it hindering your relationships with others? So there ya go.

i'm paying you aren't i?

Question. If you are paying for a service…shouldn’t you get what you paid for and if it isn’t what you want, have it fixed? I am not talking unreasonable things here, I mean like say a website for example.

How hard is it to have something centered? Well apparently it is too hard for some people. I have been arguing with our web designer most of the afternoon over just wanting something centered. It wouldn’t be ‘that’ big of a deal, but this person questions EVERY LITTLE SINGLE THING I DO.

Last I thought WE were paying HIM to help design the site. If I want it to have dancing clowns on it, then damn do it. (no I don’t want dancing clowns, but you get the point)

I am just tired of people NOT doing what they are paid for or more so questioning everything I want to do on the site. If it was once or even twice, ok, but every damn time.
That is my rant for the day…I feel better.

by the skin of my teeth

I know two days in a row for a blog, but yesterday was QUITE eventful, so I had to share and since I 'should' be sitting in jail with my car impounded I thought this was worth sharing.

Yesterday my radiator light came on in my car, so this was some cause for concern. I was due for an oil change, so I took it in and they did all the stuff and what not. They said it was low, but no big deal. So, I then proceed back to work. Light is ‘still’ on. The kicker is my car is ‘acting’ fine, driving normal, not over heating, nothing.

I am a little concerned. Called Andrew and he offered to take a look at it. Nothing looks wrong, just a little oil residue. So, drive from Lakewood to Littleton..light still on.

So I watch the Bretz children and leave. Hurrah! The light is now off! Praise God! I guess it just needed to refill through the system. HURRAY! Ok, but wait, my day is not over….

I am heading home and I have a few things to drop off including a Red Box rental at McDs. So the spots right next to the box are handicap. Ok it is around 10 PM. So, I hop out, drop the movie off hop in my car and take off. Ok, MAYBE a total of a minute max.

I pull out and behind me there is a police officer. I am driving down the road and his lights come on. I am thinking Ok what DID I do? Also, I am thinking I’m in SO much trouble. If you didn’t know my wallet was stolen…in that was my insurance card, id all the important stuff. NOT to mention that my tags are expired.

The officer comes up and says I pulled ya over for a couple of reasons, one, you parked in a handicap spot at McDonald’s. I say, I was just dropping off a movie. Two, your rear plate light is out and thirdly you gunned out of the parking lot when you turned and almost hit a car. (which I DIDN’T but I can see how he thought that) I just let that go.

So he asked me for driver’s license, registration & proof of insurance. I say, well my wallet was stolen and I don’t have anything except for this photocopy of my ID and my passport. He says what is your home number (like I know), so he asks for my cell.

I am sitting there thinking..they are going to tow my car, they are taking me in, I am done. So five to ten minutes later he comes back. “You really need have your proof of insurance, that is a $1000 fine in Colorado. I don’t even know if you HAVE insurance. Any other cop in Colorado would charge you, but I am hungry and want to eat my dinner.” I reply, “I do, it is with State Farm. I will call them tomorrow.” He says, “Well get that and slow down.”

THAT was IT! Nothing about my tags being OVERLY expired (that is a story for another day). Nothing. Honestly, I LUCKED out like nobodies business!!!! So, I HAD to share. One of my co-workers said I used one of my nine lives. Praise God. I did luck out.

Be careful out there and I hope y’all have a GREAT weekend!!!!

halloween

Halloween has come and gone. I actually had two costumes this year….well, one was a recycled costume. I did not think that a Catholic school girl would be appropriate to wear to work. Ha ha (that is me and dear Father Andrew)

So for Mile High and some other parties I dress up as a school girl. For work I was an Irish Peasant, which the Vintage adults just loved.

Sooo, interested to see what y’all came up with. I heard about Blayne’s leaf blower. All I can say is BOO.

Post your pictures. Blessings!!!

Ok so here are some friends of mine...Zac is Psy-cow. His costume is utterly crazy. :)

and no need to introduce the KING...aka Andrew.
